Time Keeping Responsibilities and Resources
The home team is responsible for providing a timekeeper to operate the game clock and scorekeeping system for all MWF home games.
Each team has received a GrayJay login email containing the username and password needed for timekeeping. Before your game:
- Go to https://metrowestforce.com/
- Select Admin Login in the upper-right corner
- Sign in using your team's GrayJay credentials
- Choose the game you are working
Please note: The password cannot be changed. Be sure to keep the original email or save the login information somewhere that team staff and volunteers can easily access. The same login credentials will be used for all home games.
Timekeeping Basics:
- Ensure both home and away teams have signed off on rosters to begin the game in GrayJay.
- Teams should not sign off on games until game day, once all players and staff are accounted for prior to game. You do not know who will be sick or unavailable due to an unforeseen situation.
- If the game can be updated in realtime great, however, do not panic if you can't keep up with running the clock and updating Gray Jay immediately. You can record goal details and penalties on a piece of paper as the primary method during the game and to have as a backup (see Timekeeper Game Sheet below) and do not worry about entering this data in GrayJay right away but rather when you have time to do it. Relying on Wifi or cell phone service in certain rinks could sometimes be a challenge.
- Most rinks have instruction sheets with their clock, some are more intuitive than others. The Timekeeper Training Aid document and GrayJay Training Aid documents below should help. Not all clocks are created equally!
- Sign off the game afterwards once done and have referees "sign off" in GrayJay using their finger on a phone/tablet.
- Mistakes will happen, they always do and everyone will need to be patient. If there is a mistake contact Hockey Operations to discuss operations@metrowestforce.com Please note there are times when a wrong player may be assigned a goal or assist, these cannot be fixed.
