Looking for Timekeepers

The Metro West Force Hockey Program seeks expressions of interest for New or Experienced Timekeepers for the upcoming 2023/24 Season.

The ideal candidate is passionate, has good communication skills, can demonstrate leadership, and can solve problems. Most importantly, timekeepers must show maturity and responsibility in this position as working independently is important.  It would be beneficial to have some prior hockey timekeeping experience, however, training and training aids will be provided for those who express interest with no previous experience.

The role of the timekeeper is vital to all hockey games; referees are classified as officials.  The role would include managing the game clock at the arena during games; keeping track of goals, assists and penalties on an electronic device (iPad/phone) using the software program GrayJay and/or using a paper game sheet and transferring later into the system. There is the option of playing music during stoppages in play, however, the timekeeper must be capable and comfortable at this level to be able to do both.

The schedule of available games is provided in advance (weekly/bi-weekly) for timekeepers to sign up during the hockey season.  Timekeeper opportunities could be available during weekdays as well as on the weekends for the Bedford/Halifax region.  The rate of pay: $16.00/1 hr game & $24.00/1.5 hr game.

If you have an interest in earning some extra money during the season and would like to be a timekeeper, please complete the provided Google Form Link.
