Bundle Up Challenge

ATTENTION Metro West Force Families!!

We are inviting all of our teams to take part in a special initiative this winter! As the temperature drops and cost of living continues to rise, more and more families are feeling the effects of the cold weather. In an effort to do our part to support those in need we have created the BUNDLE UP CHALLENGE.

We are challenging teams and families to collect gently used hats, coats, mittens, and clothing of all sizes to be distributed to families, youth, and people in need. This will help ensure everyone stays warm this winter!

What we need from you..

Starting today, November 14th, until December 4th, collect your team's donations. Sort them (loosely) by size, then bag and label them accordingly. We also ask that you count the items you donate as part of your "official tally".

For every 15 items collected, your team will receive an entry for a team party (pizza, drinks and treats!) courtesy of Metro West Force!

Items can be dropped off at the HRM 4-Pad (formerly BMO Center) on December 4th between 4:00-6:00pm. We will draw for our winning team on December 4th at 6:30pm via our social media.

We invite teams to keep us in the loop via social media by using hashtags:

#mwfgivesback
#communityinvolvement
#metrowestforce

Player Levels Announcement

Good Day Everyone!

I’m glad and relieved to say that our Try-Outs are complete, and we will now be announcing our Teams for all competitive levels. I will say, regardless of the outcomes, we have an awesome group of players who put it all out on the line. You should be proud of yourselves.

Coaches are aware of the teams and they will be in touch for the next steps.

I will touch on a couple points:

Communication – I know some may be frustrated, but this is an area where there is always room for improvement. Tryouts are a front end loaded exhausting time for all, including the Executive. Many volunteer hours have been invested in this process leading into the wee hours of the morning to make it happen. I have zero doubt there are emails lost and unanswered. I will sincerely apologize for this. As Nova Scotia’s Largest Female Association, we get many inquires in a short period of time that reach only some of out of the 11 Board members. We absolutely try our best and anything lost in process is absolutely not malicious.

Evaluations - I wish I could give everyone exactly what they wanted, but I can’t. I’m bound by regulations and the interest of an Association as a whole. The evaluations are done independently as we review the data produced as a result. Teams are formed by depth identified in the evaluation results. We take feedback from Coaches last year and attempt to improve the quality of product from that feedback. We will work for the best interest of the players overall and support them during the season.

Team Formation – This is also done using the evaluation data. We take the division players and look at their scores and balance the teams using this to make them as even as possible. Its as simple as that.

Rec Division -  Based on some of the evaluations, re-assignments were done to the Rec Division. We now know what we have as a start point. More comprehensive communications will be coming out imminently. We very much appreciate your patience.

We will be doing a Coaches and Managers meeting this year as well. Information will be coming on that soon.

As an association, we plan to conduct a debrief on the tryout process. If you wish to contribute points for consideration, please email memberexperience@metrowestforce.com.

If your intent has changed moving forward this year, please let us know as soon as possible by contacting registrar@metrowestforce.com.

Thanks
