Metro West Force is excited to bring back our bursary of $1000 that is awarded once annually to a graduating Metro West Force player who is pursuing post-secondary education.
The bursary recipient must have been registered as a player with Metro West Force Female Hockey Association for the previous two seasons (2023/2024 and 2024/2025)
Bursary criteria will be based on the following key areas that exemplify Metro West Force:
Community - Playing an active role in your community and helping those in need when able.
Teamwork - Being a team member both on and off the ice that others can rely on to show up consistently. Displays a selfless approach and keeps the goals of the team in mind.
Respect - Shows respect towards all players in the game, including on opposing teams, officials and coaches. Displays a positive attitude and is a coachable athlete who is accepting of feedback.
Hard work - Displays a strong work ethic that goes above and beyond showing up. Consistently tries their hardest - regardless of outcome - and shows the dedication required to better themselves and their team.
Compassion - Being a supportive teammate and showing concern for others in tough situations both on and off the ice. Values what everyone can bring to any situation and champions diversity and inclusion.
We invite graduating players to submit a short essay to Metro West Force highlighting why they believe they meet this criteria. Essays can be emailed to Krista Stewart at vphockeyforlife@metrowestforce.com and must be submitted by Thursday, May 1, 2025, no later than 5pm.
If there are any questions, please reach out to Krista Stewart, VP Hockey for Life.
