UPDATE ON C DIVISION
Good Morning - A little while back we had a call on the new proposed C division that will replace A and (B in U11). Since that meeting, we have been working internally and with Hockey Nova Scotia to respond to your feedback.
1) We have tabled a proposal to allow us and all organizations to offer 1 division that will run and operate like our A (and B IN U11) divisions last year as well as 1 local option for those who are new to hockey or who don't want the additional commitments of travel, multiple ice times, etc. I expect to learn more about this proposal on Saturday.
2) The need for some stability in our divisional structure - this was discussed with HNSFC and it was acknowledged that more stability is needed and we need to stop changing things around when not needed - this is very confusing for all organizations, parents and players.
3) More ice (not just 1 game and 1 practice) available - regardless of the decision above, we will make more ice available offering more practices times and more games (similar if not the same as last year in A - 1 or 2 practices/week and 1 or 2 games per week).
4) Tournaments - we have reached out to tournament organizers and they have adjusted their offerings in line with the new structures: if COVID permits - tournaments will be available to the C division!
5) Opponents "who will we play against"? - The matrix of teams is not yet finalized, but as of right now, I see teams being offered in a number of other organization (Metro East Ice in Dartmouth for local games, and Western Riptide (on the south shore), Valley Wild, Fundy Highland (Amherst/Truro/New Glasgow) for travel opportunities too. NOTE: Not all organizations will offer teams at every level except for us and Metro East Ice
I will pass along any more updates as soon as I get them and as always, let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks, Andrew
