Metro West Force believes that all children should have the opportunity to participate in sport.  If your child is interested in joining the league and you are in need of financial assistance, please check into the following great resources.

The Force Fund

Metro West Force (MWF) Female Hockey Association is committed to enabling all girls to have access to the game of hockey. The MWF Force Fund, created for players by players, helps remove barriers by providing grants to registered MWF players who require financial assistance. Canadian Tire Jump Start Canada Assistance Fund

Sometimes, families need financial assistance to get their kids into a sport or physical activity. Jump Start is committed to helping all families access a range of activities.

Hockey Canada Assist Fund

The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants who are registered with a Hockey Canada-sanctioned association. For the 2024-25 season, the Assist Fund commits to providing $1 million/2,000 assists to kids across Canada to help them access hockey. The Assist Fund applications open on August 1, 2024, and will remain open until $1 million of assists have been accepted.

Grindstone Award 

The Grindstone Award Foundation helps remove financial barriers for girls to play hockey through registration and/or equipment grants. The Grindstone Award Foundation is committed to helping girls across Canada play the game they love and to ultimately grow the female game.

Kid Sport Halifax Regional Municipality

KidSport provides grants to kids from families facing financial barriers so they can play a season of sport KidSport Halifax Regional Municipality provides grants of up to $500 per eligible kid/per year (January 1st - December 31st) for kids who live within the Halifax Regional Municipality.
