All adult on-ice participants require a Criminal Record Check/ Vulnerable Sector Check. You can obtain this by going through this link.

Some additional tips:
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes before the first session.
  • Cutting your stick - cut just below their nose when not on skates. The stick length when on skates should be around their chin. This slightly varies with each child. If you are still too cautious with cutting their sticks, we will have a saw on hand before your first session and will cut it for you.
  • Have them try on their gear a few times so they get used to it.
  • Decorate your jersey. BLING it up!!
  • Bring a water bottle with their name on it
  • All parents must show POV
  • Have stick tape (any color) and shin pad tape (plastic). You can get this at any sports store
  • Parents, friends, etc ar welcome to watch
  • HELMET STICKER - we will have stickers for your child so the coaches can get to know your daughters
Hopefully your child will enjoy this program. It is a fantastic way  to introduce them to this great sport. There may be some frustration for the first couple of skates and that is only natural. They will meet new friends and all the coaches will be very patient with all of your girls. We will also have junior leaders ( 12-16 year old girls) who will be on the ice with them.

If your daughter wants to continue on with hockey after the First Shift is completed, there will be a place for each and every one of them within the Metro West Female Hockey Association. your daughter would be placed in an appropriate age and skill development program. Since this will not start until December, it will be a prorated cost of  $400.00 for the rest of the year. The program will run from December to the end of March. The girls would be on the ice 1-2 times per week in this new program.
